What is Shea Butter?

Shea Butter is a natural moisturizer which is derived from the fruit of the Shea (Karite) Tree. 

 
Are the formulas in the tube, jar and bottle the same?

No, they are not the same. While the lotion, which is available with a pump dispenser is quite rich, the tube is a cream formulation and is more concentrated. The jar, the most concentrated formula, is a solid which softens upon contact with the skin.

 
What does Shea Butter smell like?

Shea Butter, in its natural state, has an unpleasant odour. Palmer's Shea Butter Formula is specially formulated with an aromatically pleasing scent. 

 
The jar formula appears to have a textured, grainy appearance. Is this the way it is supposed to be?

Yes. It is perfectly normal for the jar to have a slightly uneven texture due to the properties of the raw Shea Butter. These small particles melt upon contact with the skin. 

 
Is Shea Butter ok to use on sensitive skin?

Yes it is. Shea Butter is a gentle, yet effective moisturizer that contains natural anti-inflammatory properties and is also naturally packed with Vitamins A, E & F. It is widely recommended for sensitive skin.
